The course is designed for students who wish to provide specialist legal services to international organisations and meet the demand for lawyers who may work for foreign investors. The award is only for the legal component and students must successfully complete both research topics: research methodology and research work. Strong research skills are highly valued in contemporary professional practice. This course also meets the academic requirements for admission to the practice of law in New South Wales. The course offers students the opportunity to gain an international perspective on their law studies. English proficiency for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 total with a writing grade of 6.0; or TOEFL: on paper: 550-583 total with TWE of 4.5, on the Internet: 79-93 total with a writing score of 21; or AE5: passport; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 176-184. There is no prior language knowledge for the International Studies program. During their first year of study, students will complete a language survey to ensure they begin their language and cultural studies at the appropriate level. Hands-on experience, here and abroad Both programs connect you with the industry and offer professional development experiences that are unique to your passions and goals, so you`ll shape your career right from the start of your studies. Acquire skills in communication, analysis, ethical decision-making and teamwork through internships and international exchange opportunities with our industry partners. The International Studies component consists of 96 credit points. Students choose the language they will study at the time of registration and either the linguistic, cultural and professional pathway, or the linguistic, cultural and global exchange pathway.
