Michael is responsible for all legal matters, including legal strategy alignment, compliance with data protection regulations, antitrust compliance, intellectual property rights issues and general corporate affairs issues. Michael is also responsible for advocating on behalf of the digital advertising industry on general legal issues affecting member firms. Michael joined IAB and IAB Tech Lab from Lowenstein Sandler LLP, where he served as Vice President of the Antitrust Practice Group. In this role, he strategically advised clients on competition, sales and governance matters. In the area of litigation, Michael`s cases included representing multi-party antitrust defences.

Michael was previously co-chair of the Antitrust Law Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Previously, he also served on the editorial advisory board of Competition Law 360 and the advisory board of the Civil Torts & RICO committee of the antitrust section of the American Bar Association. Michael frequently publishes on a range of legal and policy topics. Michael holds a bachelor`s degree in history and political science from Rutgers University, a congressman from Georgetown University, and a juris doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center. He is widely regarded as one of the top privacy lawyers in the United States and has been regularly recognized by leading legal rating agencies such as Chambers USA, The Legal 500 and Super Lawyers. Goldberg advises clients on everything from collection and monetization to security and incident prevention. He has particular expertise in advertising technology and technology transactions and often negotiates sophisticated deals for leading agencies, brands and technology providers.

Mr. Goldberg regularly advises clients on GDPR and CCPA compliance and is now actively preparing clients for new U.S. privacy laws coming into effect in 2023, including the CPRA, VCDPA and CPA. He lives in Los Angeles and is admitted to the bar in California.
