The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (Ministry of Environment and Forestry) issued a notification listing the amendments to the 2003 Forest Protection Legislation. In exercising its powers under section 4 (1) of the Forest Conservation Act 1980 (69 of 1980), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules amending the Forests (Conservation) Rules 2003, namely: These rules may be called Forest (Conservation) Amendment Rules, 2014. The new rules link sustainable development; Subsequently, mining in forested areas was regulated with detailed observations required by all parties when obtaining a permit. The proposal also includes proposals to limit the use of forest land for non-forest purposes in order to minimise negative environmental impacts. Overall, this will pave the way for the democratization of strict management of India`s forests. Unfortunately, there is no mention of mandatory public hearings.
