Dmp Port Requirements

You can see the current port number used by the Database Engine in the SQL Server error log. You can view error logs by using SQL Server Management Studio and by connecting to the named instance. The current log can be viewed under Management – SQL Server Logs in the “Server is lau port_number [`any`]” entry. Configure an inbound exception for sqlservr so .exe the DPM instance of SQL Server allows TCP on port 80. The report server listens for HTTP requests on port 80. The Merchant Administrator and Control Panel allow you to match account numbers and serial numbers in System Options. In the REMOTE OPTIONS menu panel, program your application button and make sure that ALLOW NETWORK REMOTE is set to YES and that the outgoing network port 4001 should be open. The default instance of the Database Engine is listening on TCP port 1443. This setting can be changed.

To use the SQL Server Browser service to connect to instances that are not listening on default port 1433, you must have UDP port 1434. A frequently asked question when deploying System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) servers and DPM agents is which ports should be open on the firewall. This article describes the firewall ports and protocols that DPM uses for network traffic. For more information about firewall exceptions for DPM clients, see: Configure firewall exceptions for the agent. By default, a named instance of SQL Server uses dynamic ports. This setting can be changed. You must enable remote procedure call (RPC) on the remote instance of SQL Server. After sql Server Setup is complete, TCP/IP must be enabled for the DPM instance of SQL Server with the following settings: On the Action page, leave the default setting Allow connection or change the settings based on your organization`s policies > Next. To activate a cellular module, enter the SIM card or MEID, select Get Status, and then select Enable. To deactivate a mobile device, select Disable mobile device. Uses EASYconnect to connect to the panel, then uses cellular for a backup connection.

Requires a panel with network communication capability (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and an active cellular module installed. To manually create the exception that matches the Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager Default rule on the Program page, click the Find this program path box, and then navigate to:Program FilesMicrosoft DPMDPMbin > Msdpm.exe > Open> Next. If you are running the DPM database on a remote instance of SQL Server, you must configure several firewall exceptions for the remote instance of SQL Server. See Configure Windows Firewall on the remote instance of SQL Server. In Server Manager, select Local Servers > Tools > Windows Firewall with Advanced Security. To configure firewall exceptions for DPM-protected computers, see Configure firewall exceptions for the agent. If Windows Firewall is enabled when installing DPM, DPM Setup configures Windows Firewall settings and the necessary rules and exceptions. The parameters are summarized in the following table. When creating or modifying a system, the type of system connection determines how the panel connects to our servers.

After you configure the required fields for your connection type, select Test Connection to make the first connection to Control Panel. In the Remote Options menu control panel, make sure that ALLOW NETWORK REMOTE is set to YES. This type of connection uses a standard network protocol to communicate with the panel via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. If Windows Firewall was not available when you installed DPM, see Manually configure Windows Firewall. Uses the control panel serial number and application key to establish initial communication with the panel. Requires a panel with network communication capability (Wi-Fi or Ethernet). In the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security console, verify that Windows Firewall is enabled for all profiles, and then click Inbound Rules. On the Rule Type page, verify that Program is selected, and then click Next. Configure the exceptions to conform to the default rules that DPM Setup would have created if Windows Firewall had been enabled when installing DPM. On the Name page, type a name for the rule and, optionally, a description > Finish. *Note: If you enable automatic programming when you create a system, you must enter the serial number of the panel, regardless of the type of connection. Uses the cell phone to communicate with the panel. Requires the installation of a cell module on the panel.
